Spellings are taught explicitly every day from Year 1 to Year 6 using Spelling Shed (Year 1 is adapted in order to correlate with the teaching of phonics). From Year 2 onwards, spelling words are sent home every week with children tested on these words on a Friday. Words to be learnt can be accessed online using login information given to the children or through a paper copy which is sent home with every child every week. This ensures no child or family is reliant on a device to practice spellings.
